I&#8217;m trying to grow more food that my family eat, which are Vietnamese dishes. Being in California makes it a bit easier, although it could be cold for some of these tender plants.<\/p>\n<p>These are some vegetable plants eaten in popular Vietnamese dishes:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Bo ngot, or rau ngot (katuk): soup<\/li>\n<li>Dau rong (winged bean): fresh or quick stir-fry<\/li>\n<li>Bac ha (<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Alocasia_odora\">Alocasia odora<\/a>, Night-scented Lily or giant upright elephant ear): soup<\/li>\n<li>Dau bap (okra)<\/li>\n<li>Mong toi (malabar spinach)<\/li>\n<li>Ngo om:<\/li>\n<li>Ngo gai (culantro)<\/li>\n<li>Tia to<\/li>\n<li>Rau que (basil, thai basil)<\/li>\n<li>Tan o (edible chrysanthemum, garland chrysanthemum)<\/li>\n<li>Bi dao<\/li>\n<li>Muop dang, kho qua (bitter gourd, bitter melon)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I just started gardening two years ago and it&#8217;s been so much fun.
